Calm and Safe – Last Blog Post: #12

Prompt: Write about something that makes you feel calm and safe.

Lux’s age: 24

CW: n/a?

Looking back to when I was younger, I don’t think I ever truly felt safe and only rarely calm. I was always on edge in some way, whether it was because of my siblings, pressure from my parents, or my tutors. I always had something that was bothering me, keeping me nervous.

Once I started working at the palace I realized I feel the most calm and safe when I am sitting in the palace gardens reading one of my world educational books.

Within the past year, I realized I also feel just as calm when I am  with Andrew, Aurora, and Camilla. This can be in the garden, one of our rooms, some place during a vacation, or… I guess anywhere really. During the war, I would be the most relaxed when it was just us in a room or when they were right there next to me. Their presence kept me as level headed as I could be in the middle of a war and make the best strategic decisions needed. Being there with them, even in some of the most chaotic, difficult, and stressful situations, as long as they were right there next to me and okay, I usually felt safe (though there were some exceptions).

Along with the garden and my books, Andrew, Aurora, and Camilla have become the main things that make me feel calm and safe.

Hello!

The main thing I struggled with this time was not having this be too short (I didn’t want my last blog post to be only about 6 sentences). Otherwise, I don’t struggle with responding to this prompt.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed my last blog post! And, if you were reading this, thank you so much!
