The Sandy River Review

The Sandy is published electronically and physically three times a year in the spring, summer, and winter. The journal is located in the Alice James Books House Intern Loft on the University of Maine at Farmington campus. The Faculty Advisor is Shana Youngdahl, whose office is located at 115 South Street, Farmington, ME 04938.  Each issue is overseen by an Editor and an Assistant Editor. At the end of each semester, the Assistant Editor steps into the role of Editor for the next issue.

We also host an Undergraduate-Only No-Fee contest in the summer, with a $100 prize for first place winners in the categories of prose and poetry.  All winners will be considered for publication. The deadline for the contest is July 15th.

The deadline for our current issue is October 17th, 2016. The same rules and regulations apply to this issue as our others, so please see our Submissions page for more details. The print issue will also be published online here on our site. Both editions will be free of charge and available in December.

The Sandy is generously funded by the UMF Humanities Departments and supported by the UMF Writers’ Guild, Alice James Books, and the BFA Creative Writing Program.
