The Sandy River Review

The Sandy is published electronically three times a year in the spring, summer, and winter in the offices of Alice James Books on the University of Maine at Farmington campus. We also do a summer print issue, which comes out every fall. As of 2016, all issues will also be in print. Each issue is overseen by an Editor and an Assistant Editor. At the end of each semester, the Assistant Editor steps into the role of Editor for the next issue.

We also host an Undergraduate-Only No-Fee contest in the summer, with a $100 prize for first place winners in the categories of prose and poetry.  All winners will be considered for publication. The deadline for the contest is July 15th.

The deadline for our annual print issue is July 15th as well. The same rules and regulations apply to this issue as our others, so please see our Submissions page for more details. The print issue will also be published online here on our site. Both editions will be free of charge and available in the fall.

The Sandy is generously funded by the UMF Humanities Departments and supported by the UMF Writers’ Guild, Alice James Books, and the BFA Creative Writing Program.
