The Things I’ve Learned from Gilmore Girls

For my final blog I thought I would compile a list of things that the Gilmore girls have taught me over the years. However when I sat down to reflect I realized that they have taught me just about everything that I know today. In my first blog I discussed how this was my show and I found it to be one of the constant things in my life. After reflecting on my life and experience with this show on a deeper level writing these posts, I know that to be even more true now.

From strange facts such as the plural of cul-de-sac being culs-de-sac to understanding the significance of being the odd kid growing up. I have learned the importance of music, friendship, and my mother. I would be less of a person without my years of this show because I would lack so much of my knowledge and so much of my personality. It sounds like such a silly thing to say, but I think the ability for me to say that speaks so much for the message of the series. Sometimes people just need something or someone to relate to and Gilmore Girls has spoken for so many who couldn’t find their own words.

I have enjoyed writing these blogs over the semester so much. It has been such a joy to rewatch episodes and find myself or my new experiences within them. If you have taken the time to read these blogs, I hope I’ve influenced you to watch an episode or two. But more than that, I hope I’ve influenced you to talk about what you love.
