My sleep

I’ve learnt the ABC of insomnia by heart
And developed my grammar of it
Chasing stars by night and playing hide and seek with the moon
My sleep was pissed off by counting sheep
So, she walked out and started admiring them
They exchanged stories and chatted with my sleep
Some stories were filled with future plans to gaze for
Greener pastures, some of past regrets, some of
Present pain,
my sleep, an ardent listener gingerly narrated to me
All of them throughout the night
I woke up with bleary eyes.
