Legend’s Gothic Rot

Once vital horsemen

galloping toward

whatever edge of

creation presented

maximal challenged

cannonball days

turned to harvest

feasts, accompany

damsels to all-night

drunk dance parties

now nonagenarians

who don’t know too

much beyond threat

dread Coronavirus,

instead cower inside

barricaded condos,

some alone, others

with wives mainly

younger & getting

absolutely fed-up.

Triple apocalypses’

pandemic, curfew,

old age/sickness/

death take their

toll almost daily

with participation

in biweekly Zoom

sessions atrophied

just like sleepy

headed jaundice

some becoming

hollowed out

pumpkins: see,

hear, eat ports

fade fast: goo

within cranium

loses grasp what

was happening,

ever so slowly —

maybe not bad.
