Dynamite

By Scott Thomas Outlar

Harken the dream

that captures tired spirits

A net flung into the ocean

clings to the teeth of salmon

Served on a holiday plate

or swimming against the tide

Subconscious dams will burst

when breath is held in doubt

But don’t despair the pain

it comes in waves to crash

Blasting the barriers of fear

to forge a passage clear
