Announcing The River’s 2018 Dramatic Works Contest!
We are proud to announce The River’s first ever dramatic works contest! Dramatic works (screenplays and stage play scripts) are a genre we have started accepting only recently and would love to see more! We thought a great way to do this would be to make them the theme of this semester’s contest. Read on for more information.
Rules: Send scripts of either a screenplay or stage play no longer than a 10 minute scene to therivereditors@gmail.com Be sure to mention that it is a contest entry in the subject line.
Prize: One winner will receive publication on The River as well as a signed copy of Art of Survival: Observations on Frustration, Perspiration, and Inspiration for the Young Artist by UMF’s own Bill Mesce. Up to two runners-up will also receive publication.
Deadline: All entries should be in by Midnight EST, April 8th.
In addition to this contest, The River is always accepting general submissions of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, visual art, and audio essays.
Happy writing!
The River Editors,
Willy and Gail
