By Abbie Hart
gardening habit
allegory of garden.
seditious tongue,
when you ask
but
i am the garden
i am the thing rotting in it
and i am a house
because that is the only thing keeping me the end.
refuge
the house was already built when i got here
and somehow i was already living within it.
the story of both the building
and the bulldozing
of this goddamn house
was written on the floorboards on moving day.
this was coming.
this was coming and someday i will mourn who i am now
and i already am.
