The Burro Woman

Note from Robert Rebsch: Thomas Gaffaney was a writer who lived in the Big Bend Country of far West Texas – essentially Chihuahuan desert country. By happenstance I met Mr. Gaffaney in New York and I suggested that he narrate a few of his sketches dealing with the uniqueness of the desert land centering in and around The Big Bend National Park and the old mining ghost town of Terlingua. He agreed. I later composed music to his prose, and a production of six pieces ensued. The Burro Woman is one. I know Tom would be happy to know I shared them because it was simply a labor of love. At the time of his death he was finishing up his first serious mainstream novel.
